Did you witness the President's State of the Union address last night? Regardless, words like fair, share, equal were the highlights of the Address, these words applying to those disenfranchised by the disparity of wealth, which, according to the President is relegated to the top 1% of earners.
As a graduating high school student or, perhaps, one entering the "job market," do you feel that the Federal Government should enter the world of earnings/wealth and create guarantees that you will have the opportunity to partake of a fair, share, equal re-distribution of wealth, "guaranteed" by regulations set by the Federal government? Or, rather, it is you who determines your level of wealth, the ability to earn as much as possible, without restrictions by Government?

Obama's address was a bunch of crap. I'm sorry, but his definition of "fair, equal, and sharing" are way different from the rest of the worlds. If he wants us to "share" he can open up some fund raisers for people who need money. Its not sharing when your being forced to give. I'm not huge into politics but even I know that speech was forced and full of BS.
This topic is a double-edged sword. Of course, it would be great for the Federal Government to allow a fair re-distribution of wealth, but for only those to have already earned it. For those people that are "on the come-up," I believe that people should determine their own path to wealth, without restrictions, because they have done what is needed to obtain it.
I don't agree that the federal government should execute a "fair, share, equal" re-distribution of wealth. If the government wants to set up funds to help the less fortunate or help those with less opportunities that is more acceptable but to put them on the same level to somebody who might have better work ethics isn't.
