"EXTRATERRRESTRIAL BROTHERS," says the Vatican...

What? "ET" in the house? I mean, Vatican City? Well, not exactly in Vatican City. Perhaps life on other planets. Yep...so says the Vatican's chief astronomer, Reverend Jose Gabriel Funes, head of the Vatican Observatory and a scientific adviser to Pope Benedict XVI. The astronomer goes on to say that there is the possibility of extraterrestrial "brothers" perhaps more evolved than humans. "How can we exclude that life has developed elsewhere? certainly, in a universe this big you can't exclude this hypothesis." The astronomer said he saw no conflict between belief in such beings and faith in God. "This is not in contrast with our faith because we can't put limits on God's creative freedom." Does this thesis put any credibility, for you, on the subject of life on other planets now?

I believe in aliens. Anything is possible.

This universe is too big for it too only be inhabited by us. I believe there are aliens out there that somehow know about us while we know nothing about them. Who knows what may be out there? Oh, and who learned that they found water on the moon?

Cobra-jet said...

The only puzzle, Tyler, is what decimated the "race" on the moon, if it had been inhabited at one time? Here's a scary thought - we're the only planet remaining that can support life, life which may be gazillions of years old PRIOR to the human race evolving! That's an enigma wrapped up in a conundrum!

Deekdj said...

Well we just have to hope that that race won't kill us off if they know we exist. Put it in our hands if we found a alien race we find lower than us would we kill it off and try to enslave it or would we make peace?

I agree With Deek and Tyler. I Believe in Aliens. Think about how big the galaxy is...and think about how much more there could be beyond that! We don't have the technology to go beyond OUR universe yet, but who knows. we may be able to create technology that lets us find a new planet, or new species. Maybe not any time soon, but as someone below me sadi, we can't be the only race in this 8 or 9 planets. They're out there. we just haven't seen them yet.

This may prove they are real. Many people will say "Oh thats fake, its just good video editing." But if you believe in it, theres no question....

Shamous said...

Maybe there are aliens more advanced than us. My only question is, are they also created in God's image.

Tshiling said...

That's a good point. If they are also created in God's image, they might look a lot like us. Who knows, maybe they don't look like us. What if they are the part of God's image that we are not?

brian said...

Alright, i will admit, the video i put does look a little fake, after i watched it a second time. But i have seen more realistic videos.

Shamous said...

and if that video is real we may as well say this one is real too

Space is so big planet Earth is just a speck in space. There could be planets a million light years away and they could have cavemen or they could have things that we see in futuristic movies.

brian said...

You can't really say its fake, unless you've seen one your self. Just because they look fake doesn't look real doesn't mean it's make. It just doesn't want to be believed. Or maybe it looks too real...

I am almost certain life exits on other planets and i think some are advanced and some are just starting out. I think it is a positive thing to have life on other planets.

brian said...

What i meant to say was, you can't honestly say the video is fake, unless you've seen one yourself. Just because it doesn't look the way you thought it would doesn't mean it's fake. It just doesn't want to be believed, maybe because it looks too real

Ever notice that "photos" of sightings are always grainy, out-of-focus...what's the reason for that poor quality? Hmmm...I know someone who witnessed a "spacecraft sighting" back in the '60's...the description was so precise...others saw it as well...on a clear fall night...right down to the "windows" on its cigar-shaped craft...there is evidence, in ancient cultures, of "alien influence," especially among the Mayans and/or Aztecs...check it out...can only ONE planet in any solar system sustain "life"...?

The following link contains an equation called the Drake equation (I've used it before in a lab in a science class once) shows a way to guess how many intelligent, communicating civilizations there are in our galaxy or in a galaxy.

doesnt it say somewhere in the bible that god created "worlds"?? i believe this is interpreted to mean the physical and spiritual worlds, but why not include other species on other planets too in that phrase?? i think we want to feel like we are not alone b/c that means theres hope for mankind, (learn new technologies, ways of thinking, systems of organization etc) but given the precise environment needed to sustain life for long periods of time, i find it hard to believe there is indeed life out there besides our own- ive also heard stuff bout the ancient mayans egyptians etc, but then why have these aliens stayed under the radar so long and not made themselves known since those ancient times?? i dont buy it

okok this REALLY proves http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2P6_ARCVVI&feature=related...

That Youtube video of the UFO... reminds me of the episodes of the old 60's Star Trek with William Shatner.

Deekdj said...

That looks really fake.

mikerussoBC said...

i know...whoever made that video thinks that everyone is dumb..the best part is after i went back a couple pages of comments i saw this "OMG finally the mothership has come for me! i cant wait for my people to rescue me from this horible planet" direct quote

I heard V is supposed to be a good show.

Cobra-jet said...

In our limited knowledge of life-sun we discount, with our limited knowledge, how can we scientifically or mathematically dismiss the exponential theory [...is that right, DM?] that life forms cannot have expanded beyond earth?

dmarcus917 said...

that is true we cant dismiss its a possibility- i just think the climate has to be so precise that the odds are against us- then again we have no clue how big the universe really is, nor can we even fathom an end to it (whats beyond?? has to be something!!)so who knows- if there is life out there i don't believe it is close enough or evolved enough to reach us- as far as ancient encounters with aliens go, i still go back to the question: why dont these beings make themselves known now if they did in ancient times??

its a similar argument to biblical "miracles"- if god acted in this way, why wouldnt he continue to do so now?? not that creation and sustainance of life isnt a miracle in and of itself- but im talking about miracles OUTSIDE the realm of science

philosophically and biblically i have no problem accepting that there could be other life, but my gut doubts it and i certainly doubt that these lifeforms have ever been in contact with us if they do exist- i guess i'm an aristotilian character- seeing is believing

interesting point before Tshilling about what aliens might look like from a religious point of view- are they created in gods image like us?? i guess a religious man would have to say they r- that is if gods image is a physical characteristic at all- something to think about...

JUG duty is brutal!!!!

Tshiling said...

Thank you, Mr. Marcus. And yes, Deek, i also heard that V was a good show. On a related note, V is actually about aliens who look and act exactly like humans (at least the older miniseries was)
...How did we get to Sci-Fi television from our initial topic?
...Oh yeah, Mike's UFO video...

Tshiling said...

...Anyway, the ideas suggested by Mr. Marcus and the show "V" do bring up a good point. I agree that God's image is something to think about, like Mr. Marcus said. Is it literally a physical characteristic? And did the creators of the original "V" think so? Hmm...

okay,...
There HAS to be life outside our corner of the universe......there has to be. There are many sightings of extraterrestrial sighting around the world.....

People telling us that this is all fake is just....foolish...
There is no way that ALL those people saw sightings and you expect me to belive that ALL of that is no true.... -__-

honestly, MAYBE some (let alone most) are not true, but i honestly think its true.

iCan give you 2 explinations on how its true.

1. That is a personal experience of one of my teachers in 7th-8th qrade.

2. what the teacher that had the experience told me that opened up my eyes...

okay....My teacherss name is Mrs. Frucilli (fru-silly)she went camping with her 3 sons and husband. and while the sons went some where to do somthing, the wife and husband stayed in the field to watch the stars in the beautiful sky, then as they are watching it, one of the stars just suddenlly moves left. she sees this then tells asks her husband "what is that..." he goes i dont know and then the "star" moves right then up then down then zig-zag and all a sudden it stops......
Then just shots back into space with a light year dash. both of them were watching this star do a dance or smthing and after that, they were convinced that there is life outside our planet.

Now, the 2nd par to this story is that, when she told me this; she said "im sure that God did not make this universe juts for us...that he most likely made life else where besides Earth"

I think we all know that there are fake and possibly real sitings of aliens, but what do this give... just stories. Its nice to say I've seen aliens or a UFO, but where's the scientific proof. When we believe in God we don't need scientific proof we go with it on faith, but aliens aren't God... so you can't go just on faith. We don't worship aliens, we worship God.

I believe that there are aliens in other planet's and i also wonder the same exact thing as Shaya are they in God's image

Shamous said...

Wellll....... I think that everyone is trying to prove the same point but in different ways. It seems as if everyone does believe that aliens are real. Sooooo........... i don't get why everyone is trying to out do one another when they all agree.

Deekdj said...

I do agree with everyone, but my earlier comment shows my ideas which basically sum everything up.
