These are just two of the public outcries from both supporters and detractors of health-care reform. Last weekend, approximately 1.8 million opponents of bailouts and high taxes marched on D.C., to voice their dissatisfaction of Washington's spending spree - all on the taxpayers' dimes! But, guess what? Republicans marched alongside Democrats, Independents, liberals and conservatives.
So, maybe we can all get along! A united effort can bring needed change as opposed to bullies slugging it out in the parking lot after school, just furthering the hatred between enemies. Look at waht happened when the 13 colonies united against Great Britain in the Revolutionary War!
So, what do you think about civil discourse? Is fighting better?

I think all the fighting is pointless and just wastes time when the government could be doing there job instead of fighting amoungst one another. If the government didn't always have its issuses then it wouldn't be a government. Humanity always has its issues wiht one another by race, class, etc. and everyone has their own issuses and reasons for why they do what they do. Once the 13 colonies won their independence from Great Britian the issue of slaves ended up causing a civil war. Fighting doesn't solve anything because it creates issues wiht one another and ends lives in wars, and what's won is sometimes worth less of the trouble in the first place.
I guess alot of people can't remove their predjudice. Violence is wrong. Like Deek said, humanity has had issues thorughout all time; concerning race and politics.
Well i think that fighting is wrong and the people couldn't just get over the prejudice like John said. Fighting really doesn't do anything except to causes more issues then there is.
I think the fighting is wrong. It is good people feel strongly about their opinions but, the fightning and creaming is the worst I have seen even at town meetings people are going crazy. This needs to stop and we have to work togeher and settle this.
Fighting makes no sence. They should just get over it and move on. Dont look back to the past theres a future ahead.
Listening, liberal media has been marking people who oppose the bill racists, radicals, and Nazis. By spreading false propaganda about republicans, conservatives, and libertarians, this makes people like myself look like i have no clue what is the "right" way to run the country. We need to lower the cost of health insurance, but we don't need to change the entire health care system we have. We have the best in the world. People from other countries come to America to pay for a life saving surgery than rather waiting 6 months to get approved by the government. And here is a history fact, Nazis and fascists want total government control and the KKK was formed by angry DEMOCRATS after the civil war, not REPUBLICANS!!!
Way to argue, Craig! Good to have you onboard again! to the rest of the writers - good input...I read that not being angry accomplishes much more than anger...but, it's OK to be angry, as a means to generate constructive arguments, though...but, acting in anger? Name-calling? Pointless!
