"Remembering 9/11/01"

And, so, we begin another school year, and, on the day the world faced international terrorism in NYC. Never before has BCHS begun our school year on this day of mourning, a time to reflect on all whom we may have lost, what we have done since that day, and, the state of the world peace today. BCHS, in fact, lost many on that day - a memorial in front of the school is a constant reminder of loss to the BCHS family. Many were my former students as well. So, what are your thoughts today? Perhaps, through the weekend? Share your thoughts with others - classmates, friends, family...here is a chance to express yourself, by responding to this first "Post" of 2009 -2010.

9/11 means as much to me as everyone else. I feel sad and depressed to think of all my friend who have lost loved ones because of 9/11. 9/11 woke me up to see what the world really is and all the events that followed. I was a little kid when it happened so I didn't really understand it, but now I do.

P.S. I've never blogged before.

So, do you like writing on the weblog, Deek? Much of what is said outside the mainstream media comes through "blogs". Quite popular, actually!
Thanks for your comments!

I remember when I was a 1st grader, and knowing my mom was in New York City, not far from the towers. In fact, she was supposed to be on the 23rd floor that day but the meeting was cancelled. I didn't realize how lucky I was when i was older. 9/11 changed the U.S. dramatically. We always thought we were so powerful, but the terrorist showed us how powerless we really can be. We can't take back the lives of the 3,000 people who died. 9/11 will always a day i will remember. It changed the U.S. and i think it was for the better. it reall brought us in for a reality check when you think about it...
