Well, the Presidential race is finally over! All the huge sums of money spent on, sometimes, mindless attack ads and endless, banal, talking points - OVER! I'd wished, however, that perhaps one of the candidates would've made a real commitment to his platform by taking some of the gazillion$ of dollar$ garnered for the campaign and actually done something constructive with all that ca$h! But, that's in the past.
Right now, what we need is constructive and beneficial leadership, a signal to the rest of the Free world that the US of A is back on top and we're better than ever! Do you think that can be done? Let's hope so...
What would you have President-Elect Obama do for the next four years?

I know this for sure. Obama is going to raise taxes, increase the size of our government, close Guantanamo Bay and destroy our healthcare system. This is the new America.

President elect Obama should find a way to keep homeowners from losing their homes because of the bad subprime mortgages that the banks gave out. Obama has to also figure out how to increase jobs for people and help the economy so that it doesn't go into an even worse recession. He also has to help businesses from going out of business like the autos and banks.

when the day comes, that Obama moves into the White House his life is going to change COMPLETELY and he is gonna be busy and hopefully keep America from going down. I hope what he does helps our enviroment and our lives.
David Gerity
One more thing. Obama plans on haelping people by "sharing the wealth". How much more socialist can this guy get? If you are a conservative Republican, you should listen to Mark Levin on 770 talk radio from 6-8 at night. You will learn everything you need to know about the disasterous election '08.
President elect Obama should try to focus on figuring out on what happened to the economy and how to fix the problem. So far, as the news says it, he has spoken to Bush but hasn't YET talked about the economy and I personally don't think he is caring about it, but all we have to say is that may God help him in his four years and he makes the right choice.

President Elect Obama needs to get the best bale out plan as possible. I grantee that Obama nor Mccain would and would have been impossible for either to get us out of this economic crises
well i believe that obama will help our country. when he says "share the wealth" HOW does that make him a socialist? Not only will Obama's healthcare plan help this country, but he Will be one of this countries BEST president.
Well so far it doesn't like he's gonna HELP the country by doing all this, but how can you say that he'll be the "BEST" president ever becasue that is NOT true...
Sharing the wealth is socialist because because the middle class suffers. By bringing money from the upper-class and giving in to the lower class, everyone becomes middle class. There is no separation between classes and the government will control everything. Do you really want to have the government telling you what to do all day every day? You have to buy Obama's healthcare plan and if you don't, you get fined $4,000. Once again, socialism.
Logun54, I love Obama too, but thing is I don't think he will actually help us. He will probably help with healthcare, but he's not even talking about the ECONOMY because he's never brought that up with his meeting with Bush.
-Steny "Kinng" Kannankara
Well first of all Having the Government tell you what to do thats not that bad. Thus we forget joining the army. When you sign up you do not belong to you anymore, YOU BELONG TO THE GOVENRMENT. So i think that listening to the government is not as bad as becoming a slave to the government

Obama has proved that he is a great speaker. I think personally thats most of the reaosn why he won. He is a tremendous public speaker. Obama has said many things but I'm not sure if he wil follow threw on his word.
fr4nchiz3525 how do you love Obama, what good do you think he will do for us. if we're lucky he will do good with healthcare, but what about the ECONOMY thats just as important, especially since he didn't bring it up with Bush.
Anthony i agree that he's a good public speaker, but i think he's not gonna do what he SAID he gonna do.
no matter what obama does it will be impossible for him to change anything within the first year or so of his term. IT will take time to fix our problems. I think to judge him already is much too soon.
I feel that tax payers should not be responsible for an automotive's company;s mistakes. They spent money on things that don't matter. They give their employees 1 year's pay, health insurance, and back-pay. That is one reason for spending so much money. The automotive industry should fire newly- hired employees so they can keep senior employees on the payroll and spend less.
Once again, i think obama was the wrong choice, but McCain was too. It's amazing that htis is what America offers, there should be alot better candidates that what they had. Obama, well, i have no confidence in him and America isn't going to do good with him.
Riley Finnegan
Obama is already president. America picked him as our president so they want him to lead our country. They understand what they did and they liked want Obama has to offer for our country.
-Nicky Collova
why would you think America pickey him nick. I'm not to sure about what good he's gonna bring here.
Gerity
I understand that he has already been chosen. I'll give him a chance, but I'm going to give your President the same respect you gave mine as soon as he makes a mistake.
Tom Lahey
No he's not going to bring us anything because what we all need is money. With no one talking about the ECONOMY were all dead and bankrupt.............. Think of that...!!!
Hopefully when he moves into the White House he will now realize how important his job is and we'll help America and it's people
Lahey, you made me laugh on that so hard on that I can't for that to happen. Amazing things at the wrong time but God will choose time. My Gosh.
I don't understand why everyone is bashing Obama. Republicans have led the way for 8 years and look how things have gone. We don't all need to agree with him, but we all need to work with him. We are after all one country, even if we have different views.
Scott Mogerley ( I'm writing on Stenny's, mine doesn't work)
i beleive that this is the trning poit for america! we have been broke for the past eight years and with obama in office he will prove that change is possible! With Obama's plan to share the wealth proves that he is the chosen one
Adeshola Logunleko
Im srry for not writing my name but I am both fr4nchiz3525 and don kinng except for the one scott sent.
Scott, it's not the Republican Party's fault for the failing economy. Wall Street is to blame. The only reason the current administration is being blamed is because they currently hold power. They are trying very hard to solve this problem, and have come up with many strategies that are in effect and gradually relieving our nation of its economic problems.
but as soon as republicans took office, that was when america's welth dropped to the point where the country was hinraging money. and also bush's decision to enter iraq and wasting time and MONEY on thrying to find weapons of mass destruction. TO THIS DAY THOSE WEAPONS HAVE NOT BEEN FOUND. Even Colin Powell The secratary of state who IS a Republican even says that there is most likely NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
Adeshola Logunleko
i agree with anthony davanzo
Darryl Dixon
The weapons of mass destruction are in Iran. We knew that. We though they might be supplying Iraq with some of these weapons. We were wrong. We admit that, but, we are still in Iraq because if we leave, the Iraqi government won't be stable enough and there will be a civil war. That's why we're there Adeshola.

I dont think a single party should be blamed for the problems in Amercia. Both parties are to blame because the Senate is made up of both parties. The president can't make a descison unless the Senate approves. We have to pay more attention what Senators we are electing instead of the president alone.
The Democrats have been the majority in the Senate since 2005. They opposed tax cuts (until Obama proposed it) and they opposed the USA PATRIOT ACT which provides security for America. Barack Obama would water-down the Patriot Act dangerously, leaving Americans far more vulnerable to terrorism. Under the Patriot Act, the government can conduct a secret investigation of a terror suspect and need not give the suspect notice of that investigation for 180 days. Mr. Obama wants to change the period allowed for the secret investigation to seven days. This would be so early in the investigation, the suspect would have ample time to cover up, issue warnings, and escape if necessary. Mr. Obama views the U.S. Constitution as a suicide pact which makes it impossible to wage an effective war on terrorists and impossible to stop them before them repeat 9/11 or some like catastrophe.
No that is where you are wrong. Terroism? How? this country was fine until 9/11 but once that first plane hit the tower, Bush needed someone to blame! Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and plus America has nothing to do with them anyway. if THEIR GOVERNMENT is unstable, They should be the ones to handle it. Everyone knows why Bush went into iraq. IT WAS FOR OIL. He calls himsewlf trying to help the country when innocent people are dying to the hands of american soliders and for what Because their Government is unstable. All BUSH HAS TALKED ABOUT FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS IS THAT HE BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION BUT THERE WERE NONE.
Adeshola Logunleko
This country was attacked three times before 9/11. The Oklahoma City bombing, the 1993 World Trade Center attack, the USS Cole in the Persian Gulf in 1999. American soldiers aren't killing inncoent people. It's the car bombs the terrorists set off in crowded public places that kill people. George Bush hasn't mentioned weapons of mass destruction since his State of the Union address in 2003. He accepts there are none in Iraq, that they're all in Iran.
Tom Lahey
Well I believe that Bush IS STILL TRYING TO FIND SOMEONE TO BLAME. There ARE NO WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! And Those terroist attacks have had nothing to do with iraq at all! Like i said before Bush is trying to find someone to blame. Because after 9/11 America was scared of what might happen next. Bush saw this oppurtunity to go into iraq, and as soon as he said it was iraq then Americans wanted to take action!
Ok. You better study this a little bit more. I never said Iraq was responsible. What i'm saying is Iraq could've been the next country to attack us if we didn't strike first. And President Bush isn't trying to find someone to blame. He is simply trying to protect America by seruring democracy in the middle east. Saddam Hussein killed millions of his own people. Bush wanted to bring that to an end. If you say that's wrong, you're a sick man. Basically what we did in Iraq is the same thing we did to Nazi Germany in the 40's. We stopped the insane dictator, and occupied them for a while to ensure the peace. I congratulate the President and all the troops who brought democracy to Iraq.
Tom Lahey
BUT BUSH WANTS THEIR OIL
So what. It helps our country. We need oil. However, President Bush did not want the oil until he realized we secured the country. Actually, we're not getting any oil from Iraq. All of our oil is from Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Alaska, the Gulf, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Yemen, Oman, etc. NOT IRAQ!!!
Tom Lahey
Nice debate, Guys! I heard something on 970 AM today - those who think little of themselves want BIGGER government, more spending for what they don't have...so, who pays the freight? Those who HAVE! Isn't that a tax for success? Someone has to pay...and, whom do you think creates the jobs? right - those who HAVE! So, please go easy on this top 5%, who pay, conservatively, 70% of ALL taxes...tax them, and they leave town! Please don't reward failure with...invest in success, Mr. President!
Mr. F
I agree with you Mr. Flynn. We shouldn't increase the size of our gouvernment and the gouvernment shouldn't increase spending on failed programs. Also, our gouvernment shouldn't bail out the auto-companies because they got themselves into this mess with the low APR rates and 0% financing for X amount of months. I say, let them collapse, it's their fault. Only problem with that is, unemployment will be sky high! But sharing the wealth will solve this problem huh? LOL
Tom Lahey
So if bush wants oil so bad then why is there a WAR!!! What about there country what about there needs. Iraq is in worse shape than america, so why should we make it worse by Stealing what is theirs. "It helps our Coountry" well if bush didnt start a war none of this would have happened
Adeshola Logunleko
And another thing why is wall street to blame for america's economy? they should not be blamed for it when it is The GOVERNMENTS fault!
Adeshola Logunleko
logan did you perhaps forget about why we are at WAR with Iraq, try thinking of 9-11. Logan why can't you see whats going on in our world today especially with Amercia and Iraq. Yes i agree that we're stealing oil from them, but remember to look at how many LIVES they took from us.
D.Gerity
First of all, Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11 terroists attacks. A group of terroists called al queada did. I raq should not be blamed for the deaths at 9/11!
Just so you know Adeshola, I supported Obama the whole time. I just wanted to get a debate going. Plus, I despise Bush. We're on the same page here.
