On the ethanol issue, whether or not we should harvest part of our food supply/corn crop for biofuels, a term you'll read in "Living Green," check out what The New York Times had to say this past weekend in the "Op-Ed" section this past weekend.

There is a new article out that says that Global Warming has actually reduced the quantity of Hurricanes in the Atlantic. There should be more sufficient use of better ways of living and responsibility to search for healthier ways of living.
With the rising gasoline prices, living green might help save energy and money. Oil is becoming more scarce, so by the time we're adults, there may be no oil left on Earth.
Studies have shown that it take a gallon of gasoline to make a gallon of ethanol.

As some articles have said, diesle engines can use vegetable oil as bio fuel. However, some problems can occur. Think of this, there are aproximately 300-350 million people only in the united states. There are maybe 150-200 million adults in the united states so that could mean about 150-200 million cars here today. Now there are not as many diesel engines as regular ethanol engines. So lets make it a safe bet and say 50-75 million deisel cars/trucks. Now if every one of those cars used bio fuel, and aproximately 20 gallons per car, then thats.....a lot of galons of vegetable oil that could leave to shortages. I do think this is a very good idea especially if you like the smell of french fries.
Living green is an important thing to do in our day in age. Hybrid cars and alternative energy sources are very improtant. And guys, throw your stuff in the trash please. Tom Lahey
